Na základě pozvání Stálé mise České republiky při OSN v New Yorku vystoupili zástupci společnosti Metropolnet a statutárního města Ústí nad Labem dne 10. července 2026 na konferenci High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF), která probíhala od 7. do 15. července 2026 v sídle Organizace spojených národů v New Yorku.
"Účast Metropolnetu za naše město na SDG fóru OSN představuje mimořádný milník nejen pro společnost samotnou, ale také pro Ústí nad Labem a celý region," uvedl primátor města Ústí nad Labem Petr Nedvědický.
Metropolnet se tak stal jedním z prvních zástupců městských technologických organizací, kteří měli příležitost prezentovat své zkušenosti a vizi přímo na půdě Organizace spojených národů, po boku oficiálních vládních delegací z celého světa.
Prezentovaným tématem bylo „How We Are Building a Resilient and Sustainable City Ústí nad Labem Through Technology“, které se zaměřuje na budování odolného, bezpečného a udržitelného města s využitím moderních technologií. Téma odolnosti, bezpečnosti a technologických inovací bude i nadále patřit mezi klíčové priority rozvoje města Ústí nad Labem a společnosti Metropolnet. Vize do roku 2030 potvrzuje ambici stát se příkladem moderního evropského města, které využívá technologie jako nástroj pro dlouhodobě udržitelný rozvoj, vyšší bezpečnost a lepší služby pro své občany.
Veliké téma je zapojení privátního sektoru, což je aktivním cílem OSN. Zdůvodnění naplnění cílů (SDGs) nejde nicméně rychle a je zájem takto změny akcelerovat. SDGs tvoří přímou linku směrem k EU a českým ministerstvům. Na základě cílů OSN/SDG jsou sestavovány dotační programy a prioritizace státní podpory. Je takto přímá možnost se na tvorbě těchto cílů podílet. Výhledy již nyní pracuji s vizí až do roku 2050.

Meaningful engagement of stakeholders from across all relevant sectors is a prerequisite for successful implementation of the 2030 Agenda and efficient follow-up processes.
We are pleased to be accompanied by a representative of the business sector this year. Businesses contribute significantly to the achievement of the SDGs through their innovation potential, operational efficiency, the ability to create jobs as well as long-term economic value.
I would like to invite Mr. David Vejsada, CEO of the Metropolnet company, to share his experience and perspectives on advancing smart and sustainable urban development at the local level.

Excellencies, distinguished delegates,
My message is simple: a city cannot become sustainable on its own. What works is synergy — every partner doing what it does best and doing it together.
Ústí nad Labem is an industrial city of ninety thousand people, situated in a former coal mining region. We work hand in hand with our national ministries, and we build on European and national funds. With that support we have delivered a series of projects that are moving us toward a city that makes decisions based on data, not guesswork. This is Goal 17 in practice: partnership turning strategy into results.
At home, our method is centralisation of digital tools. Through our city technology company, we pool IT for the city, its schools, and its institutions. A small school that could never afford proper IT services and cybersecurity protection now has both, because we build and protect the system together. And our data stays ours: kept and safeguarded at home, never handed to anyone else's cloud. That is what earns citizens' trust.
Our plan is to connect isolated technology islands into a single secure system that serves people by 2030. Into integrated solutions for smarter energy, water, and traffic management, safeguarded by advanced cybersecurity.
From our point of view this is a pattern we see in every successful city in the Czech Republic. Sustainable cities. Effective institutions. Strong partnerships.
